Finger Lickin Records

We’re off to London! We entered “Monty” into a national competition run by Carbon Logic (www.carbonlogic.co.uk) and judged by Finger Lickin’ Records (Plump DJ’s, Krafty Kuts). We were over the moon to have reached the shortlist, so you can imagine how ecstatic we were when we discovered we won!
Justin Rushmore and Jem Panufnik of Finger Lickin’ Records had this to say:
“This track was the clear winner. It had what I look for in a track - vibe, energy and originality. Monty by Grinny Grandad has something that you just can’t resist and on a second listen makes you feel that the track is already a classic. I love the female vocals, sassy youthful and quirky, the confident beats, great arrangement and nice touches with the gun shot percussion. I also think that a mix down with Snorkel studios will take this project to an exciting level so all in all great name and very worthy winners.”
So, we’re off to London to record and master some tracks and we’ll be doing some gig action down there too over the next month or two - watch this space!
Cheers so much for all the support we’ve received over the last two years - its completely unexpected, and greatly appreciated.

The Moor Music Festival
Now then,
We’re playing The Moors festival this year (which we can’t bloody wait for) - we played the preview night at The Junction a few days ago - some photos here: http://www.upforit-site.co.uk/moorfest.html (Thanks to Captain Ants for coming all the way from Scarborough - lovely beard by the way!!
)
We were totally blown away by all the bands that played there. The Moors Festival is going to be pretty damn fine if you ask us!!! If you want a safe bet for an amazing weekend in July, then get your tickets here: http://www.myspace.com/moorfest

Hopefully see you there… lets get drunk, eat well and be merry!
